Artist Statement:

When the Women's Right to Vote act passed in 1920, not all women were allowed to vote in every state as legislated. It wasn't until The Voting Rights Act was passed in 1965 that all women could vote. But African-American women have become a force to be reckoned with as they are now bringing whole neighborhoods to the polls to vote with them.
